The Arts at West Park

The arts are a central part of the life of West Park Church. We believe that, as Rubem Alves said, if we want people to believe in a better world , we must show them images of beauty. We also believe that beauty and justice, ethics and esthetics must go hand and hand. Further, the arts do not illustrate or supplement the word of Godbut can be expressions of the Word of God in their own language, be music, drama, dance or visual arts. Our worship each Sunday at 11:00 AM (English) and 1:00 PM (Spanish/Portuguese) seeks to express these values.

There are other ways in which West Park expresses its commitment to the Arts:

Comfort Ye Concert

Annually Ms. Lauren Flanigan and stars of the Metropolitan and New York City Operas join together to sing to benefit the homeless of the city. This year's concert will be Monday, December 17th at 7:00 PM

The West Side Chorale

Makes its home at West Park and is open to new participants. Rehearsals: Mondays 7:30 to 9:00 PM

The Jupiter Symphony

Makes its rehearsals home here at West Park and opens its rehearsals to the public

Opera Ebony

Annual series of concerts hosted by West Park.

"Sing Out"

Concert held annually presents a wide variety of musical offerings to benefit community concerns
